Many of our clients are committed to protecting and enhancing the environment at all levels. So are WebbPaton. We advise on many varied issues such as manure management plans, renewable energy schemes and environmental alleviation programmes for developments of varying sizes. We have completed numerous Entry Level Stewardship applications and, since its inception, have been one of the biggest users of ELS Online, Natural England's high tech application platform.
We anticipate that individual farmers will shortly be required to measure their carbon footprint and reduce their farm's emissions. We are already doing this for some of our clients. We also expect that our clients will be able to trade 'carbon quotas' soon and we're ready to advise and act.
We are working on several schemes using sustainable technology and building methods which will make Swindon's town extensions the most sustainable exemplar developments in Europe.
The Farming and Forestry Improvement Scheme (FFIS)
will re-open for the second round of applications in April/May this year. The scheme provides capital grants of between £2,500 - £25,000 (based on a maximum of 40% of the item cost) to encourage more efficient use of resources in farming and forestry operations. There is a vast array of over 50 items which are covered by the scheme, including slurry separators, GPS equipment, rainwater harvesting equipment, weigh crates, EID readers, resurfacing parlour floors, cluster flushing systems and electricity efficiency devices. Details on the first round of the scheme can be found at
